It looks like the GOP nominee will be Newt the Snarkapotamus

I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed in the GOP base. They had 9 candidates from whom to choose and at the end of all of the sound and fury, they seem to have settled on the meanest and nastiest candidate and zounds isn’t Newt both of those things in spades.

Repeated Harassment Is Not Bullying, It's Stalking. Let's Prosecute it That Way

When teens, preteens and children harass each other, even when that harassment rises to the level of utter cruelty and violence, we have this desire to give it a cutesy name that suggests the idea that this “just something that kids do”.

Tea Party Republicans: Time to Put Up or Shut Up

By my calculations, the new Republican house is already proposing $220 Billion in additional spending and reduced revenue (aka $220 Billion increase to the budget deficit) on two items between now and election day in 2012 making it very difficult to get to their promise of cutti …

Election 2010 - After Coming after Women's rights GOP to Attack Latinos Next if Elected

With so many obviously targeted groups and nasty attacks, it was hard to determine who would be the second group the Republicans intend to attack after they were elected. First, as I have written about previously, the GOP intend to attack women's rights.

Election 2010 - Republicans Plan Broad Attack on Women's Rights if Elected

It became clear to me shortly after writing my last article (1) that among the many crazy ideas espoused by many of its Tea Party candidates, the Republicans have a special focus in mind if elected.

2010 Election - A Democratic Momentum Shift Begins to Materialize

The conventional wisdom and polling to this point has suggested that election 2010 would be a blowout victory for Republicans, one where they were almost certain to win back the House of Representatives and had at least a 50% shot at winning back the Senate.

Election 2010 Potential Consequences include Impeachment of Obama

If you follow Republicans as closely and for as long as I have a number of things become apparent. The one that is the most important with regards to election 2010 is that once Republicans find a tactic that works, they stick with it until they are forced to abandon it.

Sarah Palin is weighing in on the BP oil spill, specifically, who is to blame for it and/or who is to blame for the spill taking so long to stop. I guess she can see the Deepwater Horizon site from her house. On Fox News, Palin had this to say:

Coakley Loss Massive Blow and Wakeup Call for Obama, DNC

I wrote a few days ago that Martha Coakley was likely to lose, particularly if the Democratic Base did not show up. I was partially right, she was likely to lose. Some of the loss is no doubt due to one of the most inept campaigns ever put on for a US Senate race.

Republican Party and its upcoming Civil War

A few days ago, Meaghan McCain spoke of a war within the Republican Party between, and I am paraphrasing for a number of reasons, the future, and those who are terrified of it. While Meaghan McCain is not considered an authority on the Republican Party, I think she is right.
